The Altered Views series of videos are sourced from computer screen-recorded footage of online YouTube content documenting Philadelphia’s Kensington Avenue district. Sourcing primarily from extraordinary documentary footage captured by kimgary, the Altered View series transforms brief clips by altering the format, framing, composition, colour, sound, and duration. The process can arguably be considered within the tradition of ‘found’ material where pre-existing material is transformed through aesthetic intervention.
